Islamabad United have strengthened their squad ahead of the 11th season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by signing New Zealand’s prominent batter Devon Conway. The franchise confirmed the development through its official social media platform, warmly welcoming the left-handed opener and calling him a “Kiwi star” expected to play a key role in the upcoming tournament.

Conway is widely regarded as one of the most dependable and aggressive batters in modern T20 cricket. Known for his consistency at the top of the order, he has delivered several match-winning performances for New Zealand in international cricket. One of his notable achievements includes becoming the fourth fastest player in T20 Internationals to reach the milestone of 1,000 runs, underlining his impact in the shortest format of the game.

Reports suggest that Islamabad United have secured the player on a lucrative deal worth Rs 63 million, reflecting the franchise’s confidence in his abilities and the value he brings to the team. His inclusion is expected to boost the batting lineup and add both experience and stability.

Alongside Conway’s signing, Islamabad United have also retained several important members of their core squad to maintain continuity. Team captain Shadab Khan will remain with the franchise in the Platinum category, with a retention fee of Rs 70 million. Fast bowler Salman Irshad has been kept in the Gold category for Rs 14 million, while Andries Gous has been retained in the Silver category with a fee of Rs 12 million.
