The Islamabad Police have issued detailed security instructions to mosque and imambargah administrations in the federal capital. The move comes after requests for enhanced safety measures from religious authorities.
According to the official directive, at least one armed security guard must be stationed at mosques during all prayer times. The security personnel are allowed to carry weapons inside mosque premises to ensure protection for worshippers.
The Islamabad Police also instructed that parking near mosque entry and exit points is strictly prohibited. Additionally, mosques and imambargahs must maintain a single, clearly marked route for both entry and exit to manage crowds safely.
Street vendors, beggars, and unauthorized sales of items such as caps outside mosque gates are not allowed. Administrations are required to report any suspicious activity, individuals, or objects immediately to the police. These measures aim to prevent potential security threats and maintain public safety.
The directive emphasizes that mosque administrations must implement these instructions without delay. Non-compliance may result in legal action, as authorities will monitor adherence to the guidelines.
Officials said the instructions reflect Islamabad Police’s commitment to safeguarding public places and ensuring a secure environment for worshippers. Regular inspections and monitoring will be conducted to ensure the guidelines are followed.
The Islamabad Police stated that these measures are essential to address security concerns, particularly during high-traffic prayer times. The guidelines are designed to protect both worshippers and mosque staff, enhancing overall safety in the federal capital.
