Islamabad Traffic Police has launched an Online E-Learners Permit system, enabling citizens to obtain learner driving permits from home via the official portal dlims.islamabadpolice.gov.pk. Officials said the initiative aims to enhance convenience and reduce unnecessary visits to traffic offices. Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Hamza Humayun noted that the service reflects ongoing efforts to modernize public services and simplify licensing.
Additionally, Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has extended the deadline for securing valid driving licenses until October 7, 2025. From October 8, authorities will enforce strict measures against unlicensed drivers, including arrests and vehicle impoundments. The extension is intended to provide citizens with extra time and facilities to complete licensing procedures. To manage the increased demand, special service desks have been set up across Islamabad.
This initiative marks a step toward digital accessibility and streamlined services for residents of the capital.
