The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have launched Pakistan’s first fully operational “Online Women Police Station,” aimed at providing 24/7 protection and swift justice for women, children, and other vulnerable groups through a dedicated helpline: 1815.

A police spokesperson stated that the station is designed to address cases involving domestic violence, gender-based crimes, and abuse against women and children. The helpline allows women to easily file complaints, seek legal guidance, or request immediate assistance without hesitation.

Inspector General (IG) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi explained that the station offers services like video calls and online chat, removing the need to physically visit a police station. FIRs can now be filed remotely and delivered to victims at home.

He added that a First Responder Unit is deployed within five to seven minutes of a complaint, and if an issue cannot be resolved on the spot, female investigation officers from the online station intervene to ensure justice is served.

The helpline is managed entirely by female police officers, including call handlers and responders. Additionally, all emergency calls made to the general 15 helpline are automatically redirected to 1815 using AI, ensuring every distress call is addressed.

The service runs around the clock and is integrated with the AI-powered “Police Station-on-Wheels,” which can be dispatched with responders when required. IG Rizvi emphasized that the initiative’s main goal is to provide fast, respectful, and tech-driven solutions for gender-based crimes, ensuring no voice goes unheard.
