The 13th meeting of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board, chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, convened with full board attendance to discuss several key initiatives aimed at enhancing Islamabad’s infrastructure and services.

Key Decisions:
- Revitalization of Cinema Industry:
The board approved plans to revitalize the cinema industry in Islamabad by redeveloping plots previously designated for cinema construction, ensuring compliance with legal frameworks. Additionally, four new cinema sites will be established in the city, designed to meet modern standards and international requirements. - Resource Wing Restructuring:
To enhance financial management, the board decided to place the Resource Wing under the purview of the Member Finance. This move aims to improve revenue generation, identify new revenue sources, address weaknesses in the revenue collection process, and integrate advanced technology and practices in financial operations. - Transaction Advisory for IT Park:
The board agreed to hire transaction advisory services for the development of the IT Park in Sector G-10. This step is intended to ensure effective planning and execution of the project. - Approval of Bus Terminal Feasibility:
The CDA Board approved the feasibility and design of a new bus terminal, supported by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Additionally, the Public-Private Partnership Authority has been authorized to seek advisory services for various projects. - Sewage System Improvements:
The board also sanctioned the placement of the City Sewerage Division under the Director General of Water to enhance the city’s sewage treatment system.
These decisions are aimed at improving Islamabad’s infrastructure and public services, reflecting the board’s commitment to modernizing and advancing the city’s development.
