The Islamabad district administration has announced that several of the city’s well-known hiking trails will be closed for two days as part of heightened security arrangements ahead of major national events. The decision was taken in view of the Markah-e-Haq gathering and the Independence Day celebrations scheduled to take place at Jinnah Stadium on August 13 and 14.
According to the official notification, Trail 2, Trail 3, Trail 4, Trail 5, as well as the trail located behind Saidpur Village, will remain closed to the public on August 12 and 13. Authorities say the move is aimed at ensuring the safety of participants, managing large crowds, and maintaining a secure environment during the events.
The administration has also appealed to residents and visitors to cooperate with these temporary restrictions, stressing that the measures are necessary to facilitate the smooth and safe conduct of the Independence Day festivities. Citizens have been urged to plan their outdoor activities accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the closure period.
Security will be on high alert in and around Jinnah Stadium, with law enforcement and emergency services on standby. The district administration has assured that the trails will reopen for public use immediately after the events conclude.
