Islamabad Court Issues Arrest Warrant For Gandapur In Liquor Case

The Islamabad Court has issued an arrest warrant for former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in a liquor and arms recovery case after he repeatedly failed to appear before the court.

According to official details, Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti heard the case on Wednesday. However, neither Gandapur nor his lawyer, Zahoorul Hassan, attended the proceedings. Due to their continued absence, the Islamabad Court ordered the police to arrest and produce the suspect at the next hearing.

The case was registered at Bhara Kahu Police Station in Islamabad and pertains to the alleged recovery of liquor and illegal arms. The magistrate observed that Gandapur had been given several opportunities to appear before the court but failed to comply with repeated summons. The judge noted that his non-appearance left the court with no option but to issue an arrest warrant to ensure his presence in future hearings.

Following the order, the district and sessions court in Islamabad adjourned the hearing until November 11. The police have been instructed to submit a compliance report after executing the arrest warrant.

The Islamabad Court’s decision highlights the judiciary’s firm approach toward non-compliance with court orders, even in cases involving high-profile political figures. Legal experts say such measures are necessary to uphold the rule of law and maintain the credibility of judicial proceedings.

Ali Amin Gandapur, a senior politician and former provincial chief minister, has faced multiple inquiries in recent months. His legal team has not yet commented on the latest development.
