Imran Khan

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Imran Khan, chairman of the PTI, tried to show some flexibility in his stance after a court upheld his arrest warrants and police demonstrated their determination to carry them out by declaring on Thursday that he was “ready to talk to anyone” for the good of the nation and democracy.

According to court orders, Mr. Khan must be detained and brought before a judge in the Toshakhana case on March 18 after arrest warrants were issued for his repeated absences from court appearances.

Changing his tone a bit, Mr. Khan tweeted that he would not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the country’s greatest interests, progress, and democracy. He added that he was willing to talk to everyone except the “thieves and looters.”

When asked to elaborate the reason behind this apparent change of heart on Mr Khan’s part, PTI Central Information Secretary Farrukh Habib told Dawn, “[Ready to] talk about free and fair elections. Not on corruption”.

Only a day earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had extended an olive branch to Imran Khan stressing that all political forces needed to sit for dialogue to rid the country of the ongoing political and economic crises.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
