Iran’s Fifth Wave of Missile Strikes on Israel Leaves 4 Dead, Dozens Injured

Tensions between Iran and Israel intensified on Saturday as Tehran launched its fifth phase of retaliatory missile attacks under the operation “True Promise 3.” The latest strikes targeted several key Israeli cities, including Tel Aviv and Haifa, killing four people and injuring more than 90, according to international media reports.

Iranian and foreign sources reported that ballistic and hypersonic missiles overwhelmed Israel’s air defences in certain areas, with explosions heard across the northern regions of occupied Palestine. Alarms were sounded in multiple cities as residents were urged to seek shelter amid fears of additional attacks.

Mehr News Agency claimed a 50-storey building in Tel Aviv was significantly damaged, and that Iranian drones and missiles successfully hit critical infrastructure. Meanwhile, Iran’s Tasnim News also alleged the downing of two Israeli warplanes and the capture of a female pilot—claims that remain unverified.

The Israeli Defence Forces acknowledged the strikes and said their aerial defence systems, including the Iron Dome and David’s Sling, were active throughout the night. Still, some missiles reportedly breached the defences, causing property damage and civilian casualties.

These developments follow Israel’s major aerial attack on June 13, which killed senior Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists. As both nations continue exchanging fire, analysts warn the conflict could ignite a wider regional war without swift international intervention.
