According to the Iranian-based human rights organization Haalvsh, Iranian forces allegedly killed at least 260 Afghan migrants during an attack near the Kalgan border crossing on Sunday evening. Survivors reported distressing accounts of the incident, claiming that the military forces targeted the group while they were attempting to cross the border.
Haalvsh stated that around 300 migrants were ambushed and fired upon, with some being struck by rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs). The organization indicated that dozens sustained injuries during the assault.

In their statement, Haalvsh detailed the events: “On Sunday evening, dozens of Afghan migrants were ambushed by the Islamic Republic’s military forces near the Kalgan-Saravan border and were attacked with direct fire and RPGs. Many were killed, and numerous others were injured.”
Images provided by survivors reportedly showed many migrants with multiple gunshot wounds. As of now, Iranian authorities have not issued any statements regarding the incident.
