Two Arrested in Lahore’s Defence for Smuggling Iranian Weed
Lahore police have arrested two key members of a drug-smuggling network involved in trafficking Iranian weed into Pakistan. The suspects, identified as Ashraf and Tanveer, were apprehended in Defence, authorities confirmed.
Large-Scale Drug Operation Targeted Educational Institutions
According to police officials, the arrested individuals were part of a major smuggling ring responsible for bringing large quantities of weed from Iran. The illicit drugs, valued at millions of rupees, were allegedly intended for distribution in schools and colleges.

Further investigations revealed that the suspects had imported 12 kilograms of weed via courier services and planned to sell it in Lahore’s upscale neighbourhoods, including Defence.
Crackdown on Drug Smuggling Intensifies
Authorities have launched an intensive search operation to apprehend other members of the smuggling group. “The arrested individuals were key operatives in a network that sought to supply drugs to students,” police said in an official statement.
The investigation is ongoing as law enforcement agencies expand their efforts to dismantle the illegal drug trade in the city.
