Iran Opens Strait of Hormuz for 20 Plus Pakistani Ships

The Iranian government has permitted 20 additional Pakistan-flagged vessels to transit the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar announced the development on social media, stating that Pakistani ships will now be allowed to pass through the strait at a rate of two vessels per day, marking a significant boost for regional trade.

He termed Iran’s decision “positive and constructive,” calling it an encouraging step toward peace in the region. Dar emphasized that the move would contribute to stability and strengthen ongoing diplomatic efforts among regional players.

Highlighting the importance of dialogue, he said negotiations, diplomacy, and confidence-building measures remain the only viable path toward sustainable development.

Meanwhile, at Dar’s invitation, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati arrived in Islamabad to attend a four-party meeting focused on regional security and evolving geopolitical developments. The session, chaired by Dar, aims to ease tensions and enhance cooperation.

During his visit, Dr. Abdel-Aati is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif along with foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia and Turkey to discuss matters of mutual interest and regional stability.
