Iran fired several missiles at Israel on Wednesday, causing injuries and property damage in central and northern regions. The attacks left 14 people wounded, including an 11-year-old girl, near Tel Aviv.
Israeli emergency services responded quickly, treating victims in Bnei Brak and nearby areas. A 13-year-old boy and a 36-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries, while others suffered minor wounds.
The Israeli military confirmed that some missiles originated from Yemen, in addition to at least ten fired by Iran. Air raid sirens sounded across central and northern Israel as civilians sought shelter.
Several locations in Israel were damaged, including roads and buildings. AFP images showed debris scattered in streets and first responders evacuating children. A small crater was also reported near the French embassy in Tel Aviv.
Iran has claimed it targeted military sites, but Israeli officials condemned the attacks, highlighting the use of cluster munitions. These weapons scatter bomblets over a wide area and pose risks to civilians. Israel’s foreign ministry described the attacks as part of a pattern of war crimes by Iran.
The attacks coincided with preparations for the Passover holiday, increasing civilian exposure to missile threats. Authorities reinforced safety measures, closing affected areas until debris and unexploded ordnance were cleared.
Tensions remain high as Iran continues to support Hezbollah in Lebanon and other regional allies. Israel and Iran have previously accused each other of targeting civilians in prior clashes, raising concerns about further escalation.
