Iran Denies Trump’s Ceasefire Claim, Calls It ‘Deception’

Tensions over the reported ceasefire between Iran and Israel deepened late Monday as a senior Iranian official flatly rejected former US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a truce. The unnamed official, cited by CNN, accused Trump of “lying” and insisted that Iran has not received any formal ceasefire proposal.

“At this very moment, the enemy is committing aggression against Iran,” the official said, adding that Tehran is preparing to intensify its retaliatory strikes. “There is no ear to listen to the lies of its enemies,” he continued, directly challenging the narrative of a brokered ceasefire.

The official further stated that Iran sees no justification for a ceasefire under current conditions and warned that statements made by the United States and Israel were “a deception” aimed at justifying continued attacks on Iranian interests.

This sharp denial comes just hours after Trump claimed a “complete and total” ceasefire had been agreed upon by both sides and would take effect within six hours. However, the Iranian response signals a potential breakdown in communication—or a misrepresentation of diplomatic developments altogether.

The situation remains tense as international observers await clarity on whether any real progress toward de-escalation has been made.
