Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday that Iran would welcome any initiative capable of ensuring a full end to the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel, as hostilities continue and regional tensions rise across the Middle East.
According to remarks shared on his Telegram channel and cited by the Al-Araby al-Jadeed news outlet, Araqchi said Tehran is in contact with several Gulf capitals and supports diplomatic efforts aimed at stopping the fighting. He emphasized that Iran is open to regional cooperation to help reduce tensions and bring the conflict to an end.
The Iranian foreign minister also rejected allegations that Iran had targeted civilian or residential locations in the region. He stated that Tehran is prepared to form a joint committee with neighboring countries to investigate responsibility for recent attacks that have struck Gulf states.
Meanwhile, several Gulf nations have urged Iran to halt strikes on their territories, saying the attacks have affected not only U.S. military installations but also energy infrastructure and residential neighborhoods.
The confrontation involving Iran, the United States, and Israel has now entered its third week, raising fears of a wider regional escalation.
Amid the ongoing conflict, Donald Trump, President of the United States, warned that further military action could follow. He also threatened additional strikes on Kharg Island oil export hub, a vital facility used by Iran for exporting its oil shipments.
