Parts of Pakistan are experiencing sluggish internet speeds on Saturday due to a fault in a crucial submarine cable.
According to reports from local media outlets, the fiber optic cable connecting Singapore to Pakistan and Europe has been damaged, with experts indicating five separate cuts that will necessitate approximately a month to rectify.

Sources from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have confirmed that internet service from the eastern direction has been disrupted, leading to significant browsing challenges for internet users across the South Asian nation.
The PTA has further stated that internet users may encounter slow connectivity particularly during evening hours. Additionally, sources from Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd. (PTCL) have noted that traffic from the eastern direction constitutes less than 10 percent of the total internet traffic. They have devised plans to transition to alternative sources to ensure smoother browsing experiences.
