President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have called on the international community to take concrete steps to put an end to severe human rights violations in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In separate messages issued on the occasion of International Human Rights Day, they strongly denounced the ethnic cleansing and genocide of Palestinians by Israel in Gaza and other occupied territories, as well as the ongoing atrocities committed by Indian armed forces in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

President Zardari emphasized that Pakistan’s Constitution ensures fundamental rights for all citizens and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to advancing human rights to empower its people. He expressed confidence that democracy, peace, freedom, and human rights are deeply interconnected, and safeguarding these rights is essential for building a stable and prosperous nation.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his message, highlighted that Islam underscores the importance of upholding human values. He added that the Government of Pakistan has introduced several legislative initiatives aimed at protecting human rights.
