Influencers Accused of Promoting Gambling Apps Ignore NCCIA Summons

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued summons to several prominent content creators, including Rajab Butt, Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal, Hasnain Shah, and Irum Mehmood, over allegations of promoting gambling applications.

According to the notices, they have been directed to appear before the NCCIA office in Gulberg 2 on September 15 at 11 a.m. to record their statements. The agency stressed that the move aims to ensure a fair trial.

The notices also highlighted that the individuals had been previously called twice to join the inquiry but failed to comply. NCCIA warned that non-appearance this time would be taken as having no defense or statement to offer.

The creators are accused of advertising online gambling and trading apps, misleading youth into risky investments, and promoting unlicensed applications on social media. Authorities allege these activities were part of a coordinated scheme that led to financial losses for the public.

Last month, on August 17, YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, known as “Ducky Bhai,” was arrested at Allama Iqbal International Airport on similar charges of endorsing gambling apps.
