Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi has stated that the Indian national cricket team would travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy in 2025, but only if the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, grants permission. During an appearance on Samaa TV’s program “Zor Ka Jor”, Sethi emphasized that the issue is beyond the control of both the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), and rests squarely in the hands of the respective governments.
Sethi expressed that the people of both countries are eager to witness India-Pakistan cricket matches, and noted that Pakistan has visited India multiple times for cricketing events. However, he pointed out that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has made it clear that if a country cannot host an event due to political reasons, the tournament can be moved to another location.

The former PCB chairman also mentioned his detailed conversations with BCCI Secretary Jay Shah during meetings in Kuwait and Thailand, indicating ongoing dialogue between cricketing bodies despite political tensions. The future of India-Pakistan cricket remains uncertain, largely dependent on the political landscape and decisions made by the respective governments.
