Indian Protesters Arrested Amid Tensions Outside Pakistan High Commission

London police arrested at least two Indian protesters for racially abusing an officer during demonstrations outside the Pakistan High Commission. The protests were sparked by heightened tensions between India and Pakistan after New Delhi’s baseless accusations against Islamabad following the deadly Pahalgam attack in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

While the demonstrations remained largely peaceful, a unique moment stood out when an individual holding a cup of tea and a poster of Indian Air Force pilot Abhinandhan greeted the protesters, providing a rare scene of calm amid the heated environment. Authorities maintained a strong security presence to prevent further incidents.

Tensions escalated after 26 men were shot dead at a tourist site in Pahalgam earlier this week. Without presenting any evidence, India blamed Pakistan, a claim firmly rejected by Islamabad. In response, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, closed the Wagah-Attari border crossing, and issued travel advisories against visiting Pakistan.

Pakistan’s National Security Committee warned that any attempt to block the water flow would be treated as an act of war. Meanwhile, the Senate of Pakistan unanimously passed a resolution dismissing India’s claims as politically motivated and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people.
