According to media reports, the 29-year-old pacer informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the incident, and authorities acted quickly.

However, it was revealed that the suspect, a Hyderabad-based driver who was addicted to betting on cricket matches, had been arrested and was being questioned by law enforcement.

The BCCI also confirmed that the suspect was not a bookie, but rather a driver from Hyderabad who had lost a large sum of money and approached Siraj for inside information.

According to BCCI officials, it is critical for every player and official to promptly report such incidents to the relevant authority in order to maintain the integrity of the game of cricket.

After the 2013 spot-fixing scandal involving Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan, and Ajit Chandila, the BCCI strengthened its Anti-Corruption Unit network, according to the official.

During the 2021 IPL, the BCCI suspended Bangladesh veteran all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan for failing to report a corrupt approach during his previous IPL stint.

It is worth noting that Mohammed Siraj is currently playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing Indian Premier League.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
