Pakistani officials have raised concerns over a potential Indian military strike on Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), with a senior journalist now echoing those fears through rare speculation.
Amid ongoing tensions, veteran journalist and TV host Muhammad Malick claimed that India is likely to launch a strike against Pakistan—but only after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which ends on May 25. Citing conversations with key Indian sources, Malick stated:
“I spoke with some influential figures in India today. They believe an attack is certain, but only after May 25, when IPL 2025 concludes. Since IPL is a multi-billion rupee event, the timing makes strategic sense.”

His remarks come as relations between the two countries deteriorate further following a deadly attack in Indian-occupied Kashmir that killed 26 tourists. India has blamed Pakistan-based elements for the assault, a claim Islamabad strongly denies as baseless and politically motivated.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar also warned that India may exploit the Kashmir incident as a “false pretext” for military aggression, stressing that any such action would be met with a “decisive response.”
