India Bowled Out for 185 on Day 1 of the 5th Test in Sydney
SYDNEY – India was dismissed for just 185 runs in their first innings on Day 1 of the 5th Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Australia’s pace attack, spearheaded by Scott Boland (4/31) and Mitchell Starc (3/49), dominated proceedings, taking seven wickets between them.

Jasprit Bumrah was the top scorer for India, contributing 22 runs, including a six, as the Indian batting line-up faltered under pressure. The innings ended when Pat Cummins dismissed Bumrah with a top-edged pull shot, leaving India at 179/9.
Australia, in response, faced a modest 8/0 at the close of play, trailing India by 177 runs. With the strong performance of their bowlers, Australia heads into Day 2 in a commanding position, and India will need to strike early with the ball to make a comeback.
