India Names 15-Player Squad for Asia Cup 2025 in UAE

India, the defending champions, have officially revealed their 15-member squad for the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in the United Arab Emirates next month. The squad sees the return of key players, boosting India’s chances of extending their dominance in the tournament.

As reported by the ICC, Suryakumar Yadav has been handed the captaincy and will be leading the side with the aim of clinching a record ninth Asia Cup title. His leadership, coupled with the experience and balance in the squad, is expected to give India a strong edge over rivals.

A major highlight of the announcement is the comeback of pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who has been away from white-ball cricket since the 2024 World Cup. Having only featured in Tests over the past year, Bumrah’s presence is seen as a huge boost to India’s bowling lineup, especially in high-pressure conditions.

Meanwhile, promising opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has not made the main squad but finds his place among the reserves alongside Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, Riyan Parag, and Dhruv Jurel.

With a blend of experienced campaigners like Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, and Sanju Samson, as well as young talents such as Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma, India’s squad looks well-rounded and ready for the continental challenge.
