In the second Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh, Pakistan lost their first wicket without scoring any runs

On the second day of the second Test match against Bangladesh, Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled early on, with Abdullah Shafiq getting dismissed for a duck in the very first over on Saturday.

Bangladesh opted to field first after winning the toss, a decision that Pakistani captain Shan Masood acknowledged he would have made as well. Masood expressed confidence that the match would extend to four days and emphasized the team’s commitment to delivering their best performance. He also announced a few changes in Pakistan’s squad for the match being played in Rawalpindi.

Leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed and fast bowler Mir Hamza were brought into the playing XI, replacing fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah. The lineup also included Saim Ayub, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Rizwan, and Khurram Shahzad.

The first day of the Test was completely washed out due to rain, preventing any play. To recover the lost time, play on the second day may be extended by 30 minutes to cover the scheduled overs.

Pakistan is under pressure after a heavy defeat in the first Test, where they were comprehensively beaten by Bangladesh, losing by 10 wickets. The team aims to level the series, but the early setback in the second Test adds to their challenges.

Bangladesh’s team includes Shadman Islam, Zakir Hasan, Najmul Hossain Shanto (c), Mominul Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Litton Das (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Nahid Rana.

Pakistan’s team comprises Abdullah Shafique, Saim Ayub, Shan Masood (c), Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Salman Ali Agha, Abrar Ahmed, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, and Khurram Shahzad.
