[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Pakistan’s tea imports during the first eight months (July-February) of the current fiscal year (FY23) totaled Rs. 90 billion, a 24.58 percent increase over the previous fiscal year’s imports of Rs. 72.5 billion (FY21).
According to the most recent data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country’s tea imports in rupee terms were Rs. 8.71 billion in February, a 28 percent decrease from Rs. 12.15 billion in the same month of FY21.

In dollar terms, imports totaled $396.5 million from July to February FY22, a 6.45 percent decrease from the $423.9 million reported in the same period of FY21.
In February, imports in dollar terms totaled $32.67 million, a decrease of more than 50% from the $69.2 million reported in the same month of FY21.
Tea import in first 2 months
Tea imports in rupee terms totaled Rs. 10.541 billion in January, bringing the total for the first two months of the current calendar year to Rs. 19.25 billion.
This essentially means that during the first two months of the current year, Pakistan imported tea worth Rs. 326 million per day.
It is worth noting that Pakistan is one of the world’s largest tea importers. According to Statista, Pakistan was the world’s leading tea importer, with imports valued at approximately $598 million.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
