Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Asim Yousuf, has confirmed that the health of PTI Founder Imran Khan is improving. He reported that the former prime minister’s eyesight has shown significant recovery.
In a video message, Dr. Yousuf explained that he held a 40-minute discussion with the doctors currently treating Imran Khan. The conversation took place on February 15 at 9:45 PM and included details about medical tests, treatment progress, and the planned course of action. Lahore-based retinal specialist, Dr. Khurram Azam Mirza, also joined the discussion.
“These doctors are treating the founder’s eye problem and informed us in detail about the treatment and further steps taken so far,” said Dr. Asim Yousuf.
Eyesight Shows Notable Improvement
Dr. Yousuf confirmed that Imran Khan was examined on Sunday afternoon by the medical team. The overall health of the PTI Founder is reported as good. He clarified that he did not personally examine Imran Khan but received full updates from the treating specialists.
The latest update reassures the public that Imran Khan is recovering steadily, with his eyesight improving significantly. Experts continue to monitor his condition closely to ensure proper recovery and to guide further treatment decisions.
Request for Involvement in Healthcare
Dr. Yousuf emphasized that he and Dr. Faisal Sultan should be allowed to participate directly in Imran Khan’s healthcare process. He stated that the family wishes for further treatment to be carried out at Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. “Permission should be granted for us to be formally involved in the medical management,” he added.
