[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has extended PTI Chairman Imran’s interim bail until May 31 in a case involving a rally held in violation of Section 144.
The court granted the PTI chief’s request for an exemption from appearance and directed him to appear at the next hearing.
The same bench also extended the stay order until May 31, preventing the police from arresting the former prime minister in cases filed after May 9.
PTI chief’s bail application was heard by IHC Chief Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb.

The court wanted to know how many cases were filed against Imran in the federal capital.
Barrister Gohar Ali responded that more than 100 cases had been filed in the country against the PTI chief.
The court inquired whether the investigation officer could travel to Lahore to question the PTI chairman.
Accepting Imran’s request, the IHC stated that if the PTI chief does not appear in court on May 31, his petition for exemption will be denied.
Meanwhile, Justice Safdar Saleem Shahid of the Lahore High Court (LHC) forwarded a petition filed by the PTI chairman to Chief Justice Muhammad Ameer Bhatti for referral to a larger bench, seeking a fresh report containing any undisclosed or new FIRs registered against him on or after May 9 (period of illegal detention with NAB).
In his plea, the petitioner, Imran, also asked the court to prevent the parties involved from arresting him in any case without first seeking permission from the court.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
