In an informal discussion with journalists at Adiala Jail, PTI founder Imran Khan disclosed that he had postponed the PTI public gathering scheduled for August 8 to avoid a repeat of the May 9 incident. Khan suggested that PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif was prepared to leave for London at any moment, with his backpack ready for the essentials.
Imran Khan indicated that the postponement was a strategic move to prevent another event similar to May 9. He warned that if anyone tried to intervene on September 8, they would not succeed. He further instructed PTI members to disregard any obstacles on that date.

Khan also reiterated his demand for an open trial for retired General Faiz Hameed, asserting his position as the head of the largest political party in the country. When asked about the source of a meeting message sent to Azam Swati the previous night, Khan chose not to address the question at that time. He concluded by suggesting that any apparent confidence from the PML-N was a sign of their fear of engaging with the establishment.
