PTI Founder To Move SC After ATC Rejects Bail In May 9 Cases

Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has decided to approach the Supreme Court. This move comes after an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi canceled his bail in several cases related to the May 9 incidents.

The decision followed a hearing held by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah. During the session, a petition was submitted by Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan. The petition raised concerns that jail authorities were blocking access to Imran Khan for legal paperwork.

Aleema Khan informed the court that the jail administration was not allowing Imran Khan to sign a power of attorney. This document is required to file an appeal with the Supreme Court against the ATC’s decision.

The petition, filed through Advocate Faisal Malik, highlighted the urgency of submitting the appeal before August. It stated that any delay could affect the legal rights of Imran Khan.

The court responded to the plea by ordering jail authorities to allow Imran Khan to sign the necessary documents by the end of the day. The court also asked the jail officials to submit a report on the matter by the next day.

The next hearing has been scheduled for July 30.

Imran Khan remains in jail and is facing multiple legal cases. The May 9 incidents led to widespread arrests of PTI leaders and supporters, and several cases are still under investigation.

Imran Khan’s legal team is now focused on seeking relief from the Supreme Court. The outcome of this appeal may influence the political and legal direction of the PTI in the coming months.

Further developments are expected as the case progresses.
