The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted bail to Imran Khan in a Toshakhana case upon furnishing two bonds of Rs1 million each. Presiding over the hearing, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb directed Imran to cooperate with the trial court, warning of bail revocation otherwise.

The case revolves around allegations by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that Imran and his wife, Bushra Bibi, unlawfully retained an expensive Bulgari jewelry set gifted by Saudi royalty, causing a significant loss to the national exchequer. They allegedly undervalued 58 out of 108 state gifts during Imran’s tenure as prime minister.

Previously, Bushra Bibi secured bail, leading to her release, while Imran remained in custody over separate Toshakhana-related charges. The case was transferred to an FIA special court following amendments to NAB laws upheld by the Supreme Court.

During the IHC hearing, FIA Prosecutor Umair Malik and Imran’s counsel debated case details, including the authenticity of gift receipts. The defense highlighted that multiple agencies, including NAB, FIA, and ECP, were involved in the case.
