Former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan has rejected an offer to serve the rest of his sentence at his Bani Gala residence, insisting on the release of detainees held without trial before considering any such arrangement.

Speaking outside Adiala Jail, Khan’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, revealed that the proposal was firmly declined. Khan reiterated his commitment to remaining in prison until the unjustly detained are freed, maintaining his stance against compromise.

Speculation about a deal emerged last month, suggesting the government might offer house arrest in exchange for Khan abandoning agitation-based politics and refraining from challenging the political system. This coincided with PTI-government talks on releasing political prisoners and investigating incidents from May 9, 2023, and November 26, 2024.

Earlier, Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, confirmed his refusal to negotiate. She stated he had already spent over a year in jail and dismissed claims of seeking personal relief. PTI Senator Shibli Faraz also refuted rumors of Khan pursuing concessions during discussions with the PML-N-led coalition.

Faisal Chaudhry warned against undermining ongoing talks and called for PTI’s negotiation committee to meet Khan to focus on resolving the party’s core demands.
