The decision came after Imran Khan expressed serious reservations over the composition of the four-member committee previously formed in the province. The committee initially included Salman Akram Raja, Omar Ayub Khan, and Usman Akram, and reportedly held a position above that of Aliya Hamza.
In response, Imran Khan directed Senator Ali Zafar to convey his decision to appoint Aliya Hamza as the committee’s head. He also instructed that Firdous Shamim Naqvi be informed of the leadership change.
The development was confirmed by Senator Ali Zafar, Barrister Aliya Hamza, Ali Imran, and Barrister Faisal Chaudhry during an informal interaction with journalists at Adiala Jail.
