'Imran Khan is the Only Leader in PTI,' Asserts Abbasi

Awam Pakistan Party (APP) convener Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated on Sunday that there is no leader in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) other than Imran Khan.

Speaking on the Samaa TV program “Mere Sawal With Absar Alam,” the former prime minister remarked, “Political leaders cannot be simply removed. Even former president Pervez Musharraf tried to remove Nawaz Sharif from politics, but failed.”

He noted that Nawaz Sharif was succeeded by his daughter in Punjab and by Shehbaz Sharif at the center, although Sharif himself was effectively removed from his own political party.

Abbasi emphasized, “The country suffers from efforts to remove political leaders.”

He also stated that the current government has limited power, with the establishment playing a significant role in managing the country’s affairs. He added that the judiciary’s influence has also diminished.

The former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader claimed that the government is primarily focused on protecting its own position.

Abbasi further said that the opposition would only emerge if Imran Khan prioritizes the welfare of the people.

Regarding the £190 million case, Abbasi expressed concern about how the agreement was made, stating, “Such an agreement cannot be approved without the cabinet’s approval.”
