A video posted to the PTI’s official Twitter account showed the PTI chairman entering the courthouse with a large contingent of Islamabad police surrounding his vehicle.

In petitions filed today in the IHC, Imran sought protective bail in seven cases registered against him at Golra, Bara Kahu, Ramna, Khanna, and CTD police stations in connection with violence outside the Federal Judicial Complex on March 18 — where Imran had appeared in the Toshakhana case.

Imran would suffer “irreparable loss” if he was arrested, according to the pleas filed by Barrister Salman Safdar.

“Furthermore, as the leader of the single largest political party, there is concern that his political adversaries and opponents will be able to further their nefarious designs and political ambitions if the petitioner is not granted pre-arrest bail,” they added.

13 PTI workers arrested: police

Prior to the hearing, PTI leader Shireen Mazari claimed that Imran’s photographer Imran G and three other civilians were detained by police on their way to the IHC.

“These four unarmed civilians, one of whom is our official photographer, were in Imran Khan’s car on the way to IHC when they were arrested without having committed any crime and are now reportedly being held at Ramna police station.” Then we are singled out for criticising the ICT police!” she wrote on Twitter.

Separately, videos on PTI’s official Twitter account show party supporters being escorted away by men dressed in civilian attire.

“It’s a disgrace that PTI workers are being arrested in Islamabad today.” “Why aren’t people in uniform putting our people in prison vans?” the party enquired.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hasan Wattoo, on the other hand, told that the police had arrested a total of 13 PTI supporters so far.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
