Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Ismail has claimed that several members within the party do not want the PTI founder to be released, highlighting growing internal divisions.
Speaking to the media, Imran Ismail said that certain elements inside PTI believe the party functions better with the founder remaining outside active politics. He added that these views are creating friction among party ranks.
He emphasized that the PTI founder continues to be the central figure of the party and sidelining him would weaken the movement. Imran Ismail urged party workers to remain loyal and united behind the founder.
According to him, the internal disagreements have intensified due to political pressure and fear among some leaders. He said such attitudes are harming the party’s image and undermining its electoral prospects.
Imran Ismail also warned that opponents could exploit these divisions at critical moments. He stressed that PTI’s strength lies in its grassroots support, which remains largely loyal to the founder.
Officials and analysts observing the situation said the statement reflects rising tensions within PTI amid ongoing political uncertainty in Pakistan. Some believe these internal conflicts could impact the party’s strategy in the coming months.
