Former Imad Wasim, recently signed by Islamabad United, is facing serious allegations from his ex-wife, Sannia Ashfaq. She accused him of abandoning her during pregnancy, forcing her to terminate the pregnancy, and threatening her.
Ashfaq shared her claims on social media, stating that in December 2023, while pregnant with their third child, Imad Wasim left her without support. She described the abortion as traumatic and said she endured it alone. Ashfaq also shared screenshots of WhatsApp messages, which she says prove Wasim’s alleged behavior during that period.
According to her posts, when she asked him to take care of himself and their unborn child, Imad Wasim allegedly threatened to file a harassment case against her. She also claimed that she discovered his alleged affairs during the pregnancy, leaving her emotionally and physically unsupported.
Ashfaq appealed to Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Mohsin Naqvi to intervene and ensure a proper investigation. She urged Islamabad United and the Pakistan Cricket Board to review the situation. Imad Wasim was recently signed in the Pakistan Super League auction for Rs. 2.2 crore.
She criticized Wasim’s public image, noting his appearance at a promotional event for Haier with children while she suffered privately.
The couple’s divorce was announced in December, and Wasim reportedly remarried shortly after. Ashfaq emphasized that she is speaking out for justice, not revenge. She hopes her story will prevent other women from experiencing similar pain and suffering.
