NHMP Thwarts Major Weapons Smuggling Attempt on M-2 Motorway
The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) successfully foiled a significant attempt to disrupt law and order by intercepting two vehicles carrying a large cache of illegal weapons near Sial Mor on the M-2 Motorway.
According to an NHMP spokesperson, the operation unfolded when a vehicle was flagged for overspeeding. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated in an attempt to evade the police. NHMP patrol officers acted promptly, intercepting the car shortly thereafter.
As officers approached the vehicle, the suspects attempted to flee and brandished firearms in an effort to intimidate law enforcement. Displaying professionalism and bravery, the NHMP team managed to apprehend all individuals at the scene.

Upon searching the car, officers discovered one sub-machine gun (SMG), a 295mm rifle with 100 bullets, and a 30-bore pistol accompanied by 42 rounds.
Further investigation revealed the presence of a second vehicle traveling in coordination with the first. Acting swiftly on this intelligence, NHMP officers stopped the second car and uncovered an even larger cache—three SMGs and 500 bullets.
The suspects, along with the confiscated weapons and vehicles, were handed over to local police authorities for further investigation and legal proceedings.
