The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled a hearing for Wednesday on the petition seeking the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan on parole. The petition was submitted by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who is requesting the release in light of the current circumstances.

The hearing will be presided over by the acting Chief Justice of the IHC, Justice Sarfraz Dogar. This development follows the IHC Registrar’s Office returning the original parole application with objections. The petition, which was filed by Gandapur, was criticized for several legal and procedural issues, including the absence of Imran Khan as the petitioner. The Registrar’s Office also noted that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the convicting authority in Khan’s case, was not included as a party in the petition.
The case is expected to be reviewed in the upcoming hearing to address these objections and determine whether the parole petition can proceed.
