Former Indian Army officer P.L. Shankar has praised the combat skills of Pakistan’s armed forces amid recent tensions between the two nations.
Speaking on a talk show with other ex-military officials, Shankar remarked, “I’d rather fight Chinese than Pakistanis,” highlighting his belief in Pakistan’s superior fighting capabilities.

Shankar acknowledged the Pakistan’s superior combat prowess while giving his analysis in a talk show where other former Indian officers were also present.
“We have gotten something very important, see war is a two sided function and you actually fought against Chinese equipment with the people who can handle these equipment better than Chinese,” he commented.
His comments followed Pakistan’s strong military response to Indian strikes after New Delhi blamed Islamabad for the Pahalgam incident.
Pakistan’s swift counterattack, dubbed “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” saw JF-17 jets down five Indian aircraft, including Rafales, forcing India to seek a US-brokered ceasefire and revealing Pakistan’s significant military strength.
