The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially announced the complete schedule for the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from 30 September to 2 November.
Eight teams will participate in the 13th edition of the prestigious 50-over tournament. The opening match will feature India taking on Sri Lanka at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Defending champions Australia will kick off their campaign the next day in Indore against New Zealand, setting up an exciting Trans-Tasman rivalry.

Due to diplomatic tensions, Pakistan will not play in India and will instead play all its matches in Colombo. This makes it the first co-hosted Women’s ODI World Cup since 1993.
The tournament follows a round-robin format, with each team facing the other seven once across 28 league matches. The top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals, scheduled for 29 and 30 October in Colombo/Guwahati and Bengaluru, respectively. The final is set for 2 November in either Colombo or Bengaluru.
Seven-time champions Australia head into the tournament as favourites after dominating the ICC Women’s Championship, but strong squads from India, England, South Africa, and New Zealand are expected to make this edition highly competitive.
Key Matches Include:
- India vs Pakistan on 5 October (Colombo)
- India vs Australia on 12 October (Vizag)
- Australia vs England on 22 October (Indore)
- India vs England on 19 October (Indore)
The semi-finals and final will determine who lifts the prestigious trophy in what promises to be one of the most closely contested Women’s World Cups yet.
