The ICC predicts that by include cricket in the Olympics, it will be able to generate media rights earnings of between $130 and $260 million and potentially draw a sizable Indian audience.

The ICC has set a maximum price of $31 million for the media rights for the future Paris 2024 Olympics in India. A compelling argument is made for cricket’s inclusion in the Olympic Games by the fact that the world’s cricket governing body acknowledges that there are more than one billion cricket enthusiasts worldwide.

Greg Barclay, the chairman of the ICC, claimed that 90% of cricket fans want to see their sport included in the Olympics.

Eric Garcetti, a former mayor of Los Angeles and currently serving as the United States’ ambassador to India, has stated his wish for cricket to be played at the Olympics. America is keen to incorporate cricket in the elite sporting event, Ambassador Garcetti emphasised.

Six men’s and six women’s cricket teams would compete in the Twenty20 format at the Olympics, according the ICC committee’s suggestion. The ICC conference in Mumbai in October will be when the final decision on cricket’s inclusion is made.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
