Hyundai Nishat recently unveiled the locally assembled 7th-generation Hyundai Elantra Hybrid at PAPS 2024, marking the latest addition to its hybrid lineup. Anticipation had been building for months, especially after test units were spotted in Baluchistan. Hyundai Pakistan also released a teaser image highlighting the car’s premium interior, and now all details have been made available.
The Elantra Hybrid is powered by Hyundai’s Smartstream 1.6L GDI Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine, combined with a permanent magnet synchronous motor. This efficient hybrid system generates a total output of 139 hp and 264 Nm of torque, supported by a robust lithium-ion polymer battery with a capacity of 1.32 kWh and 42 kW output. The electric motor provides a maximum power of 33 kW (43 hp) and torque of 170 Nm, balancing performance with fuel efficiency.

In terms of design, the new Elantra Hybrid features Hyundai’s latest parametric design language, with a front fascia that boasts wraparound LED headlights and a striking Parametric Jewel Pattern grille. A single LED taillight bar extends across the rear, enhancing its modern look. The sedan measures 4710 mm in length, 1825 mm in width, and 1430 mm in height, with a 2720 mm wheelbase, making it a spacious yet manageable vehicle for both city and highway driving.
Inside, the Elantra Hybrid offers a driver-centric cabin that mirrors its sporty exterior. The dashboard curves toward the driver, complemented by a sleek LED strip for a contemporary feel. It features a 10.25-inch TFT LCD info display and an 8-inch touchscreen compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Additional comforts include dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. Safety features encompass two airbags, ABS, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist, and more, providing comprehensive protection for occupants. The Elantra Hybrid is priced at PKR 9,699,999, making it an attractive option in the local hybrid market.
