[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Leaked information suggests that Huawei is planning to bring back the pill-shaped punch hole feature, previously seen in the Mate 40 and P40 series in 2020.

In the upcoming Mate 60 series, Huawei intends to separate the dual cameras and 3D ToF sensors from the bezel, adopting a centrally-positioned dual selfie camera design, similar to Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro series.

While the integration of two cameras and a ToF sensor is not new for Huawei’s flagship phones, the distinctive aspect of the new model is the positioning of these features, previously placed either on the side or behind a full notch on earlier Mate devices

Huawei is expected to follow Apple’s lead by creatively utilizing the punch hole cutout with a feature called Dynamic Island, optimizing notifications and apps to make effective use of the space. This approach has also been adopted by Realme and is speculated to be implemented by Xiaomi in an upcoming phone.

The specific capabilities of Huawei’s version of Dynamic Island are yet to be unveiled.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
