The Punjab government has launched a new phase of the Mein Digital program to expand digital employment opportunities for educated women living in rural areas of the province. The initiative is aimed at empowering women by equipping them with in-demand digital skills that allow them to work and earn from home.
The program is being implemented by the Punjab Skills Development Fund in collaboration with government partners. It is being rolled out under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as part of broader efforts to promote women’s economic inclusion.
Officials said the Mein Digital program focuses on reducing employment barriers faced by women in rural Punjab. By offering remote work skills, the initiative seeks to improve income opportunities and enhance economic mobility for educated women who lack access to traditional workplaces.
Under the program, selected participants will receive structured digital skills training spread over a six-month period. To support learners financially during training, the government will provide a monthly stipend of Rs5,000.
A total of 2,000 seats are available in the current intake, according to officials. Authorities noted that applications are open for a limited time due to strong interest in the program from across rural districts.
To be eligible, applicants must have at least 16 years of education and must be permanent residents of rural areas in Punjab. Candidates are also required to pass an entry test as part of the selection process.
The age limit for applicants ranges from 21 to 40 years, as per program guidelines. Officials said this criterion is intended to target women who can actively participate in the digital workforce.
Interested candidates can apply online through the official Punjab Skills Development Fund website. Authorities have advised applicants to submit their forms before the deadline of January 25, as no late applications will be entertained.
