According to a report in The News, NADRA completed its investigation on the order of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, which involved “illegally-accessed information” that was allegedly used in a “attempt to block the appointment of the current army chief last November.”
It was claimed that a junior data entry operator at NADRA accessed the data of a female family member of Gen Asim Munir Shah and obtained the family’s details and identity card numbers.
The sensitive information was later allegedly used in the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) to “track the family’s international travel destinations.”

It was also stated that Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik suspended a junior executive, deputy director, assistant director, deputy assistant director, assistant superintendents, and deputy assistant director.
According to the report, the investigation was initially overseen by Brigadier (R) Khalid Latif, who was later revealed to be a close aide of former DG-ISI, Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, one of the accused contenders. Due to a conflict of interest, Latif was replaced by senior officer Ali Javaid.
It should be noted that six NADRA junior staff members have yet to be reinstated. Furthermore, Brigadier (R) Khalid Latif and three other military personnel were recently given the option to resign.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
