Hindu extremists attack a mosque in Maharashtra

According to Indian media reports, a group of Hindu extremists attacked the Raza Jama Masjid in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra, India. This incident occurred prior to the arrival of former Lok Sabha member Sambhaji Raje to the district. The attackers allegedly burned the Quran and completely demolished the mosque, also causing damage to surrounding homes and shops. In response, local Muslims protested against the violence.

Supporters of Sambhaji Raje were reported to have thrown stones at the mosque and attacked local Muslims, resulting in over 40 Muslims being injured.Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, condemned the attack and called for strict action against those involved.
