Local media reports claim spy cameras were discovered in a women’s hostel in Lahore’s Johar Town, where a group secretly filmed residents in the washroom, raising serious safety concerns. The incident came to light when a student’s family member filed a complaint at the Johar Town police station, alleging a hidden camera in Ghazal Hostel’s washroom.
The complaint accused the hostel administration of installing the camera to secretly record students bathing. Seven individuals, including hostel owners Salim and Fouzia Salim and several staff members, were booked. The accused—Saqib from Vehari, Tayyab Shahzad from Sheikhupura, Muhammad Zubair from Jhang, Irfan from Pakpattan, and Ali Hassan from Rahim Yar Khan—escaped following the police case. The hostel housed dozens of female students from various Punjab cities. Police have since evacuated the hostel and are interviewing students, who confirmed the hidden camera’s presence in their statements.
