Storm Alert Heavy Rain Sweeps Across the United Arab Emirates

United Arab Emirates is experiencing the final phase of a powerful weather system, bringing heavy Rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds across several regions. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious as conditions continue to affect daily life.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), a deep low-pressure system moving from the west is driving the unstable weather. The latest band of Rain began in western areas and moved towards Abu Dhabi and Al Dhafra overnight.

By Friday, the system is expected to spread to northern emirates, including Dubai, Sharjah, and eastern regions such as Al Ain. These areas are likely to experience intermittent Rain, along with thunder and lightning.

Strong winds are also impacting the country. Wind speeds are ranging between 15 and 30 kilometers per hour, with gusts reaching up to 60 kilometers per hour. These conditions have caused blowing dust and reduced visibility in several locations.

Sea conditions remain rough in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman. Authorities have warned residents to avoid coastal areas due to safety concerns.

Heavy rainfall has already been recorded in multiple cities. Areas such as Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah reported significant Rain on Thursday. Some locations received high rainfall levels, leading to water accumulation and overflowing wadis.

In eastern regions, wadis and mountain valleys have seen increased water flow. Videos shared online showed rising water levels, especially in Al Ain. These scenes highlight the intensity of the current weather system.

The weather on Friday is expected to remain cloudy, with further chances of Rain across most areas. Temperatures are also likely to drop, providing cooler conditions across the country.

Officials said conditions should begin to improve by Friday evening as cloud cover decreases. Further improvement is expected over the weekend, with more stable weather and calmer seas by Sunday and Monday.

Authorities have issued safety warnings to residents. The Ministry of Interior UAE has advised people to avoid flood-prone areas and drive carefully during low visibility.
