Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has issued a forecast predicting rain and snowfall in various parts of the country, while the majority of regions are expected to experience cold and dry weather in the coming days.
According to the latest advisory, Islamabad is likely to remain cold and dry, with little change in weather patterns. Similar conditions are anticipated across most areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the provincial capital Peshawar. However, the northern parts of the province may witness some shifts in weather, with intermittent rain and snowfall expected.
The Met Office specifically highlighted several districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that could see rainfall. These include Dir, Battagram, Torghar, Mansehra, Haripur, Abbottabad, Bajaur, Orakzai, Khyber, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, as well as North and South Waziristan. Alongside rainfall, snowfall is anticipated in the mountainous regions of the province’s upper districts, as temperatures remain significantly low across the area.
In contrast, most parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to continue experiencing cold and dry conditions, with minimal chances of precipitation. The Meteorological Department also forecasted that Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will remain under cold weather conditions, with partly cloudy skies prevailing in these northern territories.
The department’s advisory emphasizes the persistence of chilly weather throughout the country, particularly in northern and high-altitude regions, where snowfall could affect daily life and travel. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay updated with local weather alerts and take necessary precautions to cope with the cold and potential disruptions caused by rain and snowfall.
Overall, while some parts of Pakistan may see rain and snow, the general trend remains cold and dry, maintaining the typical winter conditions experienced across much of the country during this season.
